And here are the final figures of my budget in Istanbul. It was much cheaper than expected, even with the hick-up of the cancellation and rental of a new place after the little incident.
Truth be told, the visit of my sister also contributed a lot to it, she not only paid a part of the rent, but also graciously invited me to a couple of museums and restaurants. Sven and Kevin also invited me to a luxurious hamam and paid the restaurant bills in the first days, so I also owe them a big Thank you!
I expected to see my spending go up once alone, but in general, even on my own, I did not spend that much. I did not go out too often, and the few glasses of wine and restaurant visits were not too expensive.
I did spend a bit more on other stuff, like books, downloads of music on the first rainy days, a portable recharger for my phone and a little loudspeaker for my iPhone…
But in total, Istanbul was cheap, and I came out way under my projected budget.
Here are the final figures:
1330 € Accommodation
430 € Eating out & drinks
175 € Other expenses (phone, books, downloads)
110 € Supermarkets
95 € Cultural activities, entry fees, etc…
55 € transport, taxis, etc…
This comes to 2195 Euro, minus the 400 that my sister contributed to the rent, so 1795 Euro in total for me.
Let’s see what Tel Aviv brings.
