Connecting Cape Town

Connecting with people in Cape Town has been relatively easy and smooth. Maybe it’s the city, maybe I am also just better at it than in the start of my journey.

During the day I had met up with Kurt, a graphic designer who gave me a nice walking tour of Long Street and the neighborhood, including a lunch at his favorite burger place.

I had a great time, although I am still suffering a bit from my summer cold.

I also have a friend here from Brussels, JF.

He lives in Cape Town half the time of the year, and he already took me out to dinner and to a funny party in the suburbs last week.

Saturday evening we met up at Café Manhattan, my headquarters, and had drinks with his friends, then went on to another bar.

There I ran into Branden, a book seller and aspiring author, whom I’d already met in his store… I always like to run into someone I know. It marks a moment of feeling at home.

So, to sum it up, it has been really easy to connect here, and I didn’t have any of these ‘what am I doing here I feel alone’ moments.

And on top: Sven is coming on Monday!
