Return to BsAs.

Did I just say you cannot do the same thing twice? Well, maybe it’s true and you can’t.

But you can deceive yourself to do so.

By renting the exact same place again. It feels eerily familiar. I mean, that’s why I did it. But somehow the effect is that I feel I haven’t even left yet.

Maybe I dreamt this trip? Maybe it is all still ahead of me? Dream on, my sister said!

Anyway, all went smooth. I was nostalgic in the last days in Santiago, but on travel day I was all business, as usual. Get up, clean, taxi, check-in, gate and take-off.

Arrival in Buenos Aires, and I immediately got to business. New phone chip, Sube Card for the bus (the old one is somewhere at home), supermarket, gym membership.

All done within a bit over an hour. Unpack. Ready.

It’s hotter than in Santiago, and it’s humid. Chile had that dry air that was much more agreeable… but then also much more smog.

So I met with Javo for ice cream around the corner, and later on went out with Andrés and his friends.

First, we had pizza at a friend’s place, and when I was getting tired and was thinking to call it a night, they brought on the champagne energy drink… Who can say no? That did the trick and we went to Glam.

It’s a fun disco, in an old building with high ceilings, I guess it once was a respectable town house… and now this. Fun music, drinks, and as usual, only getting full towards 2 in the morning…

I skipped Glam on the last visit to Buenos Aires. Come to think of it, I did not go out that much, especially in the start. It was hard to adapt to Argentinean times of dinner and going out…

But I was also just at the start of this trip. I think I was more shy, did not make that many connections that easily, and also, if I had no one to go out with, I stayed in.

Now, after 17 month of traveling, I just go out by myself. I have been to countless bars and clubs by myself, and it ain’t that bad. Ok, I never really meet many people that way, but sometimes you have a nice chat over the counter at the bar.

I simply had to, otherwise traveling by yourself for that long would turn you into a hermit.

Let’s see how I translate this into Brussels.
