The first drink Mauricio made me in Rio was a Vitamina with avocado. It was delicious. But basically any fruit can be used, I understand – check this recipe!
Now I had another epiphany: An avocado popsicle! Forget the green mushy stuff to dip your tacos in! This is the real thing!!!!
It’s from a store in my street that has containers full of popsicles. Next on the test list: Corn! As Ice cream! And there are roughly a dozen where I have no idea what the fruit is….
UPDATE: forget everything I said. The real thing is the corn popsicle. I just had my second. As a kid I loved to eat sweet corn right out of the can, with a friend. I still do that. And now it’s coming in form of ice cream. I’m speechless.
Thank you for the mention. I hope you have a wonderful time in Rio. Any other stops in Brazil? Definitely try the corn ice cream, it is amazing! Banana, abacaxi, and abacate are top of my list. For a recipe for avocado ice cream take a look at the recipe I posted http://atasteofbrazil.wordpress.com/2013/08/27/avocado-ice-cream-recipe/ so simple to make!
