And here’s the best of São Paulo.
Best part/scene/place: Vila Mariana – rua Joaquim Távora. For its amazing number of bars, restaurants and places.
Best drink (non-alcoholic): Egnaldo’s Papaya-Maca-Lemon Juice. Super yummy and home made!
Best drink (alcoholic): Caipirinha wins it again, at Athenas.
Best restaurant: Athenas. For its cheese balls.
Best bar: Loca bar, the one at the corner of rua Frei Caneca….
Most visited place: Paroquia bar (for their bruschetta and the endless flow of chops!)
Best movie: The Family (Stories about those murdered at the German frontier during the division – @ Mostra Film Festival)
Song for São Paulo: Lady Gaga: Do What U Want (feat. R. Kelly)
Best breakfast: Pãofamiliar (well, the only breakfast I had actually: good coffee and big cream filled croissants)
Best speciality: The corn and avocado ice. Unforgettable.
Best sight: Mercado Municipal for its colorful beauty.
Most underrated/overrated: I can’t really tell. I feel like I have seen only 0.01% of the city. Maybe it’s art scene is underrated. The number of museums and galleries, street art and festivals is pretty impressive.
The most different from home: The size of this city is unbelievable. And it’s pretty clean.
The same like at home: Traffic.
The most beautiful place: Praça Benedito Calixto with its Sunday Feirinha Gastronômica.
The reason(s) for Binette to go there: To see that Paris is actually not that big.
The reasons to come back: The city’s amazing energy. I wish I had taken a full month there, time to soak it up and get carried away by it. I will have to come back!
