Somewhere on the way to Mexico City, maybe half an hour before landing, I have crossed the 100.000 kilometer threshold on this trip.
I just updated my travel statistics and realized that, all different means of transport combined – planes, cars, busses, ferries and trains – I have travelled approximatively 100.400 kilometers.
In detail, I
– flew 91.500 km on 28 flights
– drove 6.325 km in cars and busses
– rode 2.155 km on trains, and
– travelled 420 km over water
This is a rough – but quite conservative – estimate, and the real figure is certainly higher. This only comprises distances travelled to and from destinations on this trip, not distances travelled within cities.
I am really all for data protection. But at times I wish I had an app that had made a full profile of my movements, walks and inner-city trips included.
Projected on a map, and then linked up to my blog posts and pictures, wouldn’t that be an amazing tool?
