If you’re wondering what is going on and if I am actually in Cape Town…. yes, still here!
I’ve just been hibernating a bit, and I have to admit that I have not done much in these first few days.
I mostly went to the beach, hung out in Cafés, read a whole book, met some friends and recovered from a bit of a summer cold I got, after not sleeping much on the plane, I guess.
I’m enjoying the easy life in de Waterkant and just go with the flow.
But I also had something more serious to do: I needed to update my resumé. I have to send it back to the HR department back in Brussels, so they can start looking for a new job for me, for 1 April 2015.
It was quite something, I haven’t done this since early 2009 when I was applying for my last job. I first needed to find the old CV, then it took ages to correctly convert the PDF into Word – I was too lazy to type it all again.
Finally, it’s done, and my letter is sent to the Director of Human Resources, and I’ll hope there will be a nice job.
But as of now, this is almost unreal, too far away mentally, even if it’s high time I did it.
Right now, I can’t even tell you the date or day of the week anymore – If I can tell you the name of the city I’m in now I am actually glad – and I cannot really process the thought to go back to an office, 9 to 6, Monday to Friday, and work on actual stuff again.
I’m a bit weary about my re-integration into the real world, after all this. Will I be of any use…?
Check out the result of these past days, here’s my CV… Job offers are welcome, it’s always good to have options, right?
