Slow days

I’m still feeling a bit slow, from my light cold.

So these past two days I have mostly strolled around town, starting with the usual morning coffee session ritual that includes emails, surfing and booking.

I got a haircut, and I ordered some sun glasses, finally. I forgot my sunglasses and my second pair in Brussels.

Well, I wanted to save weight and put both of them in one case. Only to open the empty case when I unpacked back in Rio. My glasses are somewhere in Sven’s basement in one of the 48 boxes. Impossible to find.

The little optician up on College Hill had a promotion, 180 NZ$ for sunglasses with the correction. Sounds like a deal, and I found some that I liked, and where I don’t feel like a mob gangster.

They’ll be ready in a couple of days, and a great help on the beach, or anywhere in this bright sunlight.

Other than that: coffee, reading and interesting book called Freedom For Sale: How We Made Money and Lost Our Liberty by John Kampfner, strolling around Ponsonby, K-Road, in the parks and around town. Not much to report.

Tonight I’ll go out a bit, for a couple of drinks, time to explore Auckland nightlife.
