I had not given up hope yet to see Rio from above, the famous Cristo Retendor on top of Corcovado mountain, so I hopped on a bus, even though the statue was still hidden in the clouds.
Once at the Cosmo Velho train station, I realized that the next available train was in 2h40. Ok, nope. I could have taken a bus or paid a taxi to go most of the way uphill, but it was still foggy…
Ipanema though was sunny…
WTF, so I don’t see that statue. I was in the mood for a last day at the beach.
So here we go:

Olà ex-temporary flatmate,
thanks for leaving your books & the map. We will head to S. Teresa tomorrow and will check out your food recommendations. 🙂
By the way, Christo was not worth it, or rather the 2h wait. The view, well ok, nice, but Paō do Açucar was much more enchanting. So well done, concerning your last day at the beach.
Happy travelling! We look forward to follow your voyage around the globe.
