No time in São Paulo

One of the biggest differences I feel since I have arrived in São Paulo is the notion of time. In Rio I was all relaxed, and slow, and had my dreamy rhythm of beach and books, cinema and city, sleep and drinks…

Suddenly, in São Paulo, I feel like I have no time. Days feel like 8 hours. Boom, it’s the evening again.

And I’m not doing that much. I’m mostly strolling through my neighborhood or Avenida Paulista, one of the main streets with a line-up of high-risers, and its side streets…

Office buildings, the Museum of Modern Art São Paulo (MASP), the tropical Parque Tenente Siqueira Campos, and the bars and nightclubs or rua Augusta…

I can’t really explain it. It’s not that I would be losing that much time by traveling through the city.

The metro system is fast, efficient and super clean (eat that, Brussels!) and gets you there in no time.

Maybe it’s just the pace of the city that infects you.

It’s just bustling, bubbling, running, driving…
