It took some time to figure it out, because I have no idea about Istanbul and because there were so many offers on Airbnb. Prices varied a lot, too. Some places looked fantastic and had corresponding prices, some looked great, and the price was ok… I think I found middle ground.
I’ll be there from 4-28 May. My sister Sabine will join me for ten days in mid-may, so I needed a place that would host two.
I settled with Türker, in the heart of Istanbul. It’s a new flat, he doesn’t have any recommendations for it yet, but the recommendations for his other flat sound good. It will be fine. We’re in Beyoğlu, an area recommended by friends who had been there before, close to Taksim Square.
In the start, I will meet my friends Sven and Kevin, who will be there for the long 1st-of-May-weekend. Unfortunately I couldn’t come earlier to join them for the full trip, but it’s going to be fun to see them for two days.
Sabine is already planning all the city tours, the sights, the must-do’s and nice-to-see’s. I’ll have to leave that to her, I haven’t even started to look into Japan….
