Sydney harbor

Just a few pics from the Harbor Bridge and the CBD, day and night. It’s a great sight. Rajiv and I had a little snack and some wine after the opera tour. We finally enjoyed some blue sky view onto the harbor. Changes everything.

The bridge is the other Sydney landmark, opposite the Opera. Construction began in 1924 and took 8 years. However, they planned ahead for the future and urban mobility: eight lanes for cars, two train tracks, all there! It carries 160.000 cars a day, quite a jump from the 11.000 in 1932. So they had to build the Harbor tunnel under it, too.

I’m not sure I’ll make it up onto the bridge (by day or night) on this trip. It’s really expensive, but probably worth the trip. You got to be sober and cannot take anything with you that might fall down onto the bridge traffic, so no cameras are allowed… your glasses have to be fixed, too.

Well, you need to keep a few things open for your next visit, right?
