The weekend was alcohol infused, to say the least. Saturday night saw me drinking a couple of beers at the Laird’s back patio again.

Sunday I met up with Rajiv and Will, the friend of Sven who was so generous to host us in our first 9 days in Melbourne.

We went to The Railway Hotel in Melbourne’s Windsor district, for brunch. A beautiful roof top patio, it quickly filled up with the boys and a few girls for the usual Sunday afternoon cocktails.

They serve some great food too, we had a great seat in a corner with a perfect view to watch and evaluate the crowd.

 

Later that night I had tickets to a Midsumma event, The Vaudevillians with Jinkx Monsoon, a funny show of two Vaudeville stars re-working some great pop classics into their own, 1920s versions, cabaret style.

Madonna’s Music was treated to a kind of ragtime overhaul, Girls just wanna have fun, I will survive and a number of other tunes were re-worked, or sometimes raped, too.

Great stuff.
