Movie day

Friday afternoon, everybody was ready for the storm. Events cancelled, clouds hanging low…. and in the end, hardly a drop of rain. I went to a birthday party with Clint and his friends.

As we don’t have a TV in the house, I had missed out on Kiwi television. However, the host and birthday boy of the evening is a media geek and working for a TV station.

Symonds Street CemeteryHe loves to assemble bloopers and failed live TV reports, and in the end we watched a best of. I got a full load of the best of Kiwi TV within an hour. And I had a bit too much of Kiwi Chardonnay.

Saturday morning though the storm was in full swing, I woke up to torrential rain coming down in front of my window.

Luckily, by mid-morning it calmed down to a drizzle so I could run some errands.

I got those great heavy Kiwi shoes I had put an eye on, and even they might be a tad too big, I can solve that with bigger socks.

Walking around in the strong wind, with the leaves and branches flying, I realized: it’s Autumn! Beautiful. I didn’t mind the rain in my face. (But it’ll be time to move into spring again!)

After that, I went to hang out with Clint and Michael for a movie day. I watched American Hustle (again, and only partially), Dallas Buyer’s Club (again) and, for the first time, the Matrix (partially – for the first time ever).

I also got a whole stock of movies transferred onto my hard disk, for future rainy days. A great lazy day!
