Haim

I don’t remember where I heard them first, but I shazamed them. Using the little app in my iPhone I found my way to Haim, somewhere along this trip around the world.

I listened to a couple of songs, and then downloaded their album. Three sisters from California with guitars, making solid American pop rock music.

So I was thrilled to find out via a friend that they were in town Friday night and secured a ticket…

They played the famous Paramount Theatre in downtown Seattle, a grandiose building, with an amazing interior decoration. Leave it to the Americans not only to put up a show, but also build the most amazing movie and performance theaters in the world.

The place was packed. Unfortunately, I had only managed to get seats on the balcony, while my friend was downstairs in the crowd, but I was lucky I got to see them at all.

I had no idea how popular they were, they made the theater roar when they came on stage. The three sisters, born between 1986 and 1991, with long hair, and proficient on various instruments, literally brought the house down.

With only one album in their bags so far, the show was rather short, but energetic, and much more on the rock side than their album would believe you to expect.

Here’s one of my favorites: Don’t save me
