We wanted to walk to the Botanical Garden in Montréal, close to Renato & Dennis’ place. Alas, it started to drizzle when we walked over, not much, but enough to exclude any outdoor activity.
So we hesitated between the other, nearby attractions like the planetarium and the BioDome.
However, all the parents with kids headed for the Botanical Garden had the exact same idea and the queues were massive.
The planetarium only had few shows in English, so in the end we just looked at the exhibition.
The site is right at the Olympic Stadium where the 1976 games were held, so we also got a glimpse of that massive concrete saucer pan that landed in the city.
It cleared up later during the day, and we had dinner in town, and then went over to the Jazz festival again.
We were waiting for out friend Lisa from San Francisco, and her brother Brian and wife Marisa, who were driving up from New York.
At the festival: another great new discovery: Coral Egan, a powerful voiced blonde who entertained us with her music that reminded me of Tori Amos on Jazz. I am so amazed with the jazz festival, its music diversity, the atmosphere on these warm nights, the friendly people… it’s just perfect to hang out….
By the time Lisa was close to Montréal, Ren&Den had to bring their son to bed, so I walked over and greeted them.
We celebrated in a cool Japanese bar, called Big in Japan Bar. It’s the bar branch of a Restaurant, but the bar is totally hidden and you have to know where to look for it. Several drinks and cocktails later, we called it a night.
