There’s simply not much to blog about …. I try to post at least one item every day, something that made my day or that I want to remember. After all I keep this as a sort of diary for the months to come, and when all the trip is history. So let’s talk about food.
I discovered a new place to surf and have coffee, Goût Café, in Barrio Norte, just a few blocks from me.
I have already been there twice for coffee and cake, but I have to check out there extensive breakfast and lunch menu some time soon.
My stomach is a bit upset, no idea why, maybe its because I’m moving into Argentinean eating times, maybe I picked up a virus, but it has slowed me down a bit.
I do realize this is totally in contradiction with this post, but hey, you gotta eat!
The numerous cocktails this week haven’t helped, either.
Today I had lunch with Gustavo, in the lovely little Restaurant, La Olla de Felix. Gustavo knows the owner, Felix, who speaks Spanish, French, Italian and English.
We had special service and I ate a great vegetarian salad. Finally something fresh and healthy, which seemed to agree with my stomach. Maybe it was just longing for vitamins?
La Olla has a limited menu, and you better reserve your table at night. I want to come back to try out the Risotto con Brie.
However, I’d have to do that tonight, as the menu changes daily and reflects Felix’ mood and the availability of local ingredients.
I started posting pics and checking into every bar on Facebook recently, something I never did before, for privacy concerns, but hey it helps me remember.
My Facebook page however now looks like I’m a food critic. I’ve become one of those people I used to diss because they post every bite they eat.
In order to counteract all the eating, I went swimming three times this week, each time doing about 30 lanes, and I start to feel less tired from it, but I can feel my muscles ache. I haven’t used those in years.
I am also climbing on the scale every second day, to see progress (which unfortunately has stopped, at 2 kilos less than at the start of this trip). I have to think about something…
