Sorry to all of you wrapped in scarfs and gloves… I’m suffering from the heat!
It’s too hot for my taste, to run around in a city. The Andes are hidden behind a curtain of smog, and I just don’t feel much like walking around. I went to a park on Friday and, like many others, stood in the mist of the fountains for some cooling.
Parque Blamaqueda is literally in front of my house, along the Río Mapocho, and full with people during the day, resting on the ground. It’s not the calmest spot in town, as Avenida Providencia with all its traffic runs along it. But its a nice little spot, and the fountain mist is just perfect.
At night the fountains are lit up in all colors, a nice spectacle that draws a little crowd of quiet, smoking and drinking Santiaguinos.
Summer is here. I did nothing but siesta, sleep at the pool, have iced coffee and went for a nice drink in a bar with a friend at night.
