It’s time to look back at 5 weeks in the Argentinian capital:
Best part/scene/place: Recoleta. It’s just the place to be. Palermo comes in at a close second, but I think I’d always go back to Arenales y Callao. It’s central, bars, restaurants and services close by, and you’re super fast in any other part of town.
Best drink (non-alcoholic): Did I have any non-alcoholic drink? YES! Thanks Matias! The ginger Lemonade, again at Le Blé!
Best drink (alcoholic): Ananá Daiquiri in Milion.
Best restaurant: The Oldest, in Palermo. Pasta was great.
Best bar: Temple bar. For the music, right from the 90s. And the Caipiroshka that hit us like a truck.
Most visited place: Megatlon Barrio Norte, my gym? Santos Sabores, the café?
Best movie: Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmin
Song for Buenos Aires: Sia’s Elastic heart
Best breakfast: Le Blé. By far. It was simply wow. And soooo much!
Best speciality: Empanadas. The ice cream.
Best sight: Museo de Bellas Artes. Great collection. Oh, and I forgot to go to Macba again. Damn.
Most underrated/overrated: Underrated: Mercado de las Pulgas. Its a great place to hang out and discover… Overrated: well, I think I skipped this part, as I did not of any of the touristy stuff this time… Maybe the San Telmo feria, (not the flea market, but the touristy part in Defensa. It’s fun, but clearly there for the tourists…)
The most different from home: Xmas preparations when the temperature hits 30 degrees. Nothing seems more out of place than this.
The same like at home: Xmas preparations at the end of october. Other than that: the feeling, the houses, the whole vibe. This city could well be somewhere in southern Europe. I guess that’s why it feels so easy to integrate into the flow…
The most beautiful place: The blue blooming trees. Jardin botanico. Parque Tres de Febrero,
The reason(s) for Binette to go there: The starting point to our 2016 South American Tour: Buenos Aires – Patagonia – Mendoza – Santiago – Atacama – Easter Island (options: on to Peru or on to Bora Bora) – Tour.
The reasons to come back: I will. Because I feel I could just move and live there.
Best drink (non-alcoholic): Did I have any non-alcoholic drink? > YES YOU DID! The super-amazing ginger-lemonade @ Le Ble! 😀
That’s true!!! That place was really amazing. I can’t wait to test your other favorites!
