The flight was good, then I took the train from the airport, which got me into the center pretty fast. I dragged my luggage to my new temporary home – through Sydney’s rather old, elevator-less metro, saving the cab fare.
I’m pretty central, very close to Oxford Street, in a little Airbnb home, with two other rooms.
There’s a couple from Adelaide in one of them, and two Austrian girls on a trip down under in the other.
My room is small, not much space besides the bed, but it’s clean… I’ll have a good home for ten days here.
I met up with Rajiv and a friend of his in the evening for drinks and we had some great but cheap North Indian food in a small place close-by.
When I came home, I met the Austrian girls and we went for another drink and to swap some travel stories.
It’s supposed to be a bit grey and overcast this week, but I have some travel planning to do and museums to see.
The area is great, down Crown Street there are lots of bars, cafés, restaurants and shops. Plenty to explore.
