Holiday, celebration

Everyone who is working might slap me for that comment: but I’m in need of a holiday. Traveling for nearly 15 months now has taken its toll.

Sven’s arrival is really perfectly timed. He’s been working like mad in the past months in a new job, had been sick in the past weeks, and is just looking for some down time, preferably at the beach.

We have a rental car now, and took it for out first ride South, to Sandy Bay beach, some 20 kilometers south of Cape Town.

After a little walk over a boardwalk and through the sand, we arrived at this little clothing optional beach.

White sands, blue skies… and glacial water. I just can’t be in there deeper than my ankles, and maybe for 15 seconds tops.

I admire the courage of the people who bathe in there, or the surfers who stay in there waiting for the perfect wave, even if their neoprene suits might protect them a little.

We spent the afternoon there, refreshing our tans. Once returned, we took a shower, poured us a glass of white wine and made a yummy summer salad, and fell asleep on the couch.

I fear I won’t be able to update the blog as usual, if we continue that rhythm of doing, basically, nothing. Pure bliss.
