On my own again

Last day for Sabine today. We slept and had a nice breakfast at a close-by hotel, then we headed for the airport, skipping the taxi this time but using the tram and metro.

She’s heading back to Paris and on to Spain tomorrow, for the second half of her holidays, with her husband and her in-laws, close to Valencia.

Sad to see her go, we’re such a good team traveling, after all the long and short trips we’ve done, from Amsterdam, to London, through the Canadian Rockies, Yellowstone or Death Valley

So I started the last third of my time in Istanbul, first of all taking the opportunity at the airport to change a flight back from Tel Aviv, as it seemed just a bit too tight to make the connection in Istanbul, on to Zurich, and then on to Montreal.

Back in the city, I sat on the terrace of Mums Café to blog and sort a few things, until it was time for my hamam. This time, a less fancy one, but one around the corner in my neighborhood.

It’s been running since the conquest of the city, with beautiful marble basins. I stayed three hours, and just rinsed and soaped myself an relaxed. Next time I’m getting a soap massage, though.

After that, I went for a drink in Solera, a little glass of red to close the day. Beautiful day.
