Stumbling forward

For once, I’m not referring to my travel speed, but actually to stumbling and falling flat on the street.

I walked down a street, phone in hand (I think that was the mistake) when I stumbled over an edge along the side walk, maybe an inch high. If at all.

I tried to catch my fall, but somehow it felt like my center of gravity had shifted outside my body… I ran over five meters trying to get a hold of myself – on a totally flat street – and then fell right on the pavement.

Result: an open knee (the same one that had just healed after I fell off the bike three weeks ago), open hands, sprained fingers… blood everywhere on me and my pants.

It must have looked quite stupid though. People asked if I needed help but I could walk home… Cleaned myself up, washed my yellow pants to get rid of the blood…

Smashed PhoneOh, and I smashed the front of my iPhone to a million pieces in the process. It scratched right over the ground with my hand…

Well, the question of a new phone has been settled then. As if I had guessed it, I had bought a new phone tax free in Sydney’s airport…. It was too alluring: lower Aussie base price, no tax.

I wanted to keep it locked until leaving South America, as especially in Argentina, iPhones are highly sought after, and you better hand it over if someone ‘asks’ for it…

Maybe I try to use the old one longer…

Anyway, so after a weird night where I woke up after three hours of rest, only to fall asleep again when it got light…. and with a sprained hand, wounded knee, hurt shoulder…

I guess I’ll not go out tonight but stay in, cook, write some long overdue mails, watch Chilean comedies and open a bottle of white!
