Lake Washington

Summer is in full swing, so this weekend was a really lazy one. After the match Rubgy vs. Sisters, I went on a beer bust for the rest of the day and ended up bar hopping with my friend Daniel until very, very late.

Sunday I tried to sleep in, and then headed down to a little clothing optional beach on the waterfront of Lake Washington, with a great view on the lake, the other side of the shore and the mountain range with Mt Rainier looming over the city.

No pics, as that felt a bit inappropriate on that beach. I am always amazed how huge and towering that volcano is, and can’t wait to get my car for a day trip there.

I spent the day on that little patch of beach, and even went into the water. It was cold but bearable, but not as clean as my beloved Bodensee, Lake Constance, where I was born…. I’m just not that keen on long seaweed swirling around my feet when I swim.

Still, I had a nice afternoon, read a book, ate some fruit and enjoyed the view of the landscape and the mostly tattooed bodies. I’m getting inspired…

The area on the east side of Capitol Hill is more residential, and the closer you get to lake Washington, the more mansions you see, impressive houses where the view must be worth millions.

I closed the evening with Daniel again for a Corona in Madison Pub, and for once went to bed rather early, sleeping at maybe 2 a.m.

It is remarkable with how little sleep I can do. In Montreal I’d be surprised if I ever slept more than 5 hours straight. Something that, back at home, would make me collapse fast and I’d be sick in bed…

On this trip, without work and any amour of stress, I sleep surprisingly late and little, but I have days off and now, in the summer, I do spend a fair amount of time in parks and on the grass reading and dozing…
