I did a few trips around Hong Kong Island, to Middle Bay Beach, and to Stanley, a little town on the South coast of Hong Kong Island.
It’s famous for its Stanley Market, which left me a bit unimpressed though. It’s a market full of the usual trinkets, clothes and stuff you can basically find anywhere.
As I have no money and no space in my suitcase, and no need for anything, actually, I was through there in less than 5 minutes.
The promenade though is something different.
I arrived just in time for sunset over the mountain and got the last few moments when the bay was literally bathed in golden light.
Quite impressive.
I had made plans to meet up with friends in HK, so I had to head back – the bus ride took quite some time – otherwise I would have had a beer or wine in one of the pubs.
