West Coast

Time is up for Montréal, I’m off to Seattle and Vancouver.

The flights were good, but I have to seriously question Air Canada’s check-in procedures… tons of people, two counters open, only one person at the Business check-in, only one person at a baggage drop.

After checking-in online you still need to go to a machine and print the pass, because they didn’t want to see the mobile pass they themselves send to your phone….

Then you have to print the baggage tag yourself and wait in line for the one single person who scans it all… The flight to Vancouver then was fine, uneventful…

There the usual endless lines at a usually paranoid US control – even if we all just came from a plane or just stepped through the Canadian security check… I just about made my flight.

That one was special, a small propeller craft with 50 people. I sat in row 4 right next to the engines, and – here my flight anxiety comes into full swing – I could not stop thinking that one of these blades might shake itself loose, and start chopping up the plane. I seriously reclined as far as I could… I know, I know….

32 minutes later we landed in Seattle, all intact.

Here are the flights details.
