Melbourne home

I think I could move to Melbourne. Maybe I should move to Melbourne.

Riding my bike through the different neighborhoods, technically their own cities with post codes and all, from Fitzroy to Carlton, Brunswick to Richmond or Clifton Hill, I feel totally at home.

I wish I could afford one of these beautiful wooden or brick houses, with the iron welding on the veranda…

I’d love to live in Fitzroy, somewhere close to the pool…. but I would not be able to afford it.

I found the add for Kate’s house, the Fitzroy Oasis. The asking price was 780.000 Australian Dollars if I remember correctly, but it sold for a staggering 904.500 AUD, some 639.000 €.

Considering it wasn’t too huge, this is mind-blowing.

That sum would by me a mega-loft in Brussels or an apartment in a massive town house in a good Ixelles neighborhood. Maybe Uccle.

As I am just about to spend the very last Euro I own on this trip, in probably about a week’s time, and as I am known to spend my money on traveling and Madonna concerts, I doubt I would ever have the cash to actually buy such a house….

But then, there are cheaper neighborhoods in Melbourne, and they are not far. I really like Richmond, or Carlton…

Dream on.

But then, as this trip slowly comes to a close, maybe I need to start dreaming about other, future projects. Say 2019/20. I already have some ideas.
